On Valentines Day, I had the opportunity to photograph Chris and Nicole’s Destination wedding at Sanctuary Cap Cana  in Punta Cana, located in the Dominican Republic. While winter was raging here in Wisconsin, I loved being in paradise with this wonderful couple.

Chris is a Fire Fighter/EMT for the Chicago Fire Department, following in his grandfather’s and great-grandfather’s footsteps. Nicole is the owner and chiropractic physician at Remedy in Downers Grove, IL.

The wedding was a very intimate celebration. Chris and Nicole chose just to have their closest of family and friends attend, which made the atmosphere more loving and close-knit.

And the location was beautiful! At one point during their marriage celebration, I was able to see whales out in the distance in the ocean. For the reception, they had a private dinner in an oceanfront cabana.

It was a dream wedding, and Nicole and Chris invited my husband and me in like we were long-time friends. We felt so welcome.

It helped that I knew the family, of course. I’ve been so lucky to have been able to photograph Nicole’s family on several occasions. Nicole’s brother was the officiant at her wedding, and I am so excited to see the whole family again when I get to photograph his wedding this September!
