Nick and Emily were married on August 2, 2014, with a ceremony at the Saint Ann Catholic Church and a reception at the Osthoff Resort  in Elkhart Lake, WI. The couple met on their first day on campus at UW-Madison – they lived in the same dorm, and the rest is history.

Emily was one of the happiest brides I have seen in a long time; even when she had tears of joy in her eyes, her smile was still radiant. You could tell how much she loved Nick and how much he loved her. I also loved how close the couple was with their families, especially Emily with her father. The images of Emily’s dad seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress get me every time!

The ceremony was beautiful, and I loved the personal touch that Emily included by adding her grandmother’s rosary to her bouquet. As a matter of fact, all the details were perfect. The couple thought of everything. They even DIYed the beautiful invitations! Emily tells me that it was a joint crafting effort between her, Nick, their moms, and even the maid of honor and best man! They also thought to rehearse their first dance, taking a dance class at the community college in Marshfield, which helped it to go off without a hitch. Emily and her dad had another emotional moment during the father-daughter dance; it was so touching.

I think that helpful attitude from all present lasted the whole day, and everyone was so nice and so happy to be there for that occasion. As the reception went on, the dance floor was packed with fun dancers having a great time.
