Jenna and Joe's Wedding at Little Switzerland

Jenna and Joe were married on April 30^th, with a ceremony at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and a reception at the Little Switzerland.

These two met up when they were both having a night out with their separate friend groups at Mill Creek Blues. Jenna had noticed Joe and in her head called him “Plaid” because of the way he was dressed, but he had apparently noticed her, too, because after she went to request a song from the DJ, Joe was in her path with a rose!

Now, five years later (to the day!), they are getting married, and it’s obvious they have a huge system of support from people who love them. Her sister, Krista, was the matron of honor, and I loved getting to see her again—I photographed Krista’s wedding a couple years ago. Jenna also gained two stepsons, the cutest little boys, and it was amazing to see so many special people in their lives come together.

Jenna’s mom passed away a number years ago, and she thinks of her mother every time she sees a cardinal. So, Joe put an artificial cardinal in the apple tree in the backyard and wrote a note to her, telling her to look outside to see her mother watching over her on her wedding day.

Their wedding program also had a touching tribute: “Today and everyday, we also remember two very special people that are not here today. Thank you to our parents, Kathy and Dennis, for being our guardian angels. As much as we both miss you, we know that you are smiling down on us today and sending your blessings from above.”

Joe and his best man, Erik (who is better known as Diesel), certainly had a special bond and amazing friendship. Diesel’s toast to Jenna and Joe was not only the funniest I have heard but also the most heartfelt.

Even the band vendors were chosen with care and filled with love and support. Jenna has been a longtime fan of the band Love Monkeys, so it was a perfect choice to have them there. And the venue, Little Switzerland, was chosen as it is owned by a family friend of Jenna’s family, and is the site of many happy ski memories.
